If you’d rather save some money & have a kitchen that truly meets your needs and suits your home then consider a preowned kitchen. Read more details here.
When you come to redesign your kitchen, it can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you need to find thousands of pounds for a brand new, fitted kitchen from any number of the high street retailers that offer these.
However, there is another option if you’d rather save some money and have a kitchen that truly meets your needs and suits your home.
Writing for the Guardian, Nell Card explained that her and her husband quickly decided to go down the second-hand route when it came to remodelling their kitchen after feeling uninspired by what was on offer from standard retailers.
“Having lived with it for two years now, we know it is possible for a free-standing, secondhand kitchen to perform the same functions as a fitted kitchen, for a fraction of the price,” she stated.
Ms Card also offered some advice on how to go about buying a preloved kitchen. Her first tip is to work out what layout you want in your space, so that you know exactly what you need.
She noted that avoiding standard fitted kitchens will give you many more options, from the materials you use to the type of storage you install. Her top tip when it comes to actually looking for the kitchen of your dreams is to “keep your search broad, but your measurements precise”.
Other top tips for a kitchen renovation from an article in the Press Herald last month include thinking carefully about what you want to use your space for, as well as thinking about the ease with which you can clean your surfaces depending on the material you use for them.
